I love how the assistant district attorney conducts
her business over the phone while strolling through
a public place. I wonder what the patrons at Crimson
Lights must think; "Did that lady just say a
mobster's body washed ashore in Mexico?" She must
not have an office - she went on from there to
interview Brad at the athletic club. When's the last
time anyone ever got a call from the D.A.'s office
telling them "We need to ask you a few questions -
let's meet for drinks at the club!" You'd never see
that on CSI.
Then again, it is easier than having witnesses and
such brought downtown for questioning one at a time.
Heather can simply go table to table at the club and
interview various people all in one morning since
everyone in town happens to be there at any given
moment. But I wish she'd stop leaving evidence
behind with potential suspects, like how she left
the picture of Walter Palin with Victoria. She'll
never win a case by doing that.
Come to think of it, the club and the coffee shop
are great places for nabbing criminals too. Where
else but in this town could the following
conversation take place:
"Hello, Mr. Forger? You don't know me but I'd like
to hire you for a crime. Have you ever been to
Crimson Lights? Oh, you know the place? Great, let's
meet there in an hour. It's a great place to plan
for a crime, lots of people do."
Maybe the reason nobody wants to hire Adam isn't
because he got fired from Newman Enterprises. Maybe
it's because when they hear him speak they wonder
why he can't seem to speak in a normal tone of voice
for an entire sentence. The way he sounds like he's
falling asleep all the time might make prospective
employees think he's a stoner. Or, at the very
least, a narcoleptic.
Wow, Newman Enterprises is in real trouble if the
prospect of Nick Newman working there is enough to
keep investors from running scared. It's like they
were all basically investing in Victor himself, and
with him gone they've all lost interest. I've never
been able to figure out what exactly it is that
Newman Enterprises even does, and apparently the
investors don't know either. It doesn't seem to
matter if they turn a profit or turn out product, it
only seems to matter that people named Newman work
there. Why not shore things up and bring Noah
aboard?
It's probably best nobody does know what Newman
Enterprises does because all the employees seem to
do is sit around and discuss personal business, like
Karen and Victoria talking about having children. I
can think of a very good reason Karen should never
reproduce and it has nothing to do with her medical
history. Not unless terminal dullness is a treatable
condition. The last thing this show needs is some
boring character having a boring kid. Which is the
same reason I hope the hell that little singing brat
Ana isn't coming back. Not unless she's mute now.
And invisible.
Sure was nice of that school to send Katherine a
refund on unused tuition, especially since Katherine
didn't pay Ana's tuition. Her company is in charge
of a scholarship fund for students there and
Katherine arranged for Ana to attend on a
scholarship. Pretty sweet deal for Katherine to get
a kickback from the school if Ana drops out, eh?
Maybe it was Katherine who flew out to New Hampshire
and convinced the kid to quit knowing she'd get
money out of it. Maybe that's her game.
I wish everyone would quit obsessing over Victor. If
he's in trouble with the law I'm sure he already
knows it. I fail to see what Nikki hopes to
accomplish running around going "Gotta warn Victor,
gotta warn Victor!" She's sure not helping his case
any acting all shifty and defensive every time
Heather questions her. No wonder Victor wanted to
get as far away from her as he could. And now she
thinks she's going to lead the authorities on a wild
goose chase? Well, anyone who watches this show will
know exactly how those authorities feel, won't they?
