Poor Paul has to tag along with Michael and Lauren
to the big party; where's his new girlfriend Maggie?
Did he stash her away in California with his missing
son Ricardo? Isn't it a little awkward being a third
wheel to your ex-wife and her new husband?
Good God I sure haven't missed Danny singing all
these years. Thankfully the show had mercy enough
upon us all to cut away from his song for the
commercial break. And what kind of song was that to
sing at a launch party anyway? Something about
getting over a lost love, and everyone is standing
around nodding their heads like they can totally
relate. That's because everyone in the room has been
married to someone else in the room three or four
times.
I don't think Daniel has been missing out on much
without Danny around. Danny's observation was that
Daniel and Amber were a "good fit" together. I don't
even want to think about what that means let alone
how Danny would know that, and besides, what father
dreams of his son hooking up with some overly
processed bleach blonde albino looking freak with
more makeup on than Tammy Faye Baker? Granted,
Amber's not really a bad person but Danny doesn't
know anything about her, and at first glance she
looks like The Incredible Mr. Limpet with dark red
lipstick.
I sure as hell hope Restless Style isn't going to
let Amber's so called "fashions" into their
magazine. Thus far what I've seen of her work has
consisted of a hideous purple number with plastic
grapes on her shoulder, and a monstrosity of an
outfit with feathers for a skirt and so much fake
jewelry around her neck it's a wonder she could
stand up.
Not that this magazine isn't wanting for content. As
far as I can tell it's going to be all ads and one
column by Lauren. Their only photographer is Daniel
whose experience in print ads consists of blocking
pop-ups from his porn sites. They seem to have a
photo studio but for some inexplicable reason
there's an electric piano in there with microphones
and amplifiers. Or does Danny just take those with
him everywhere he goes?
Doesn't Danny hate Phyllis anyway? I mean, I can see
him making an effort to get along with her for the
sake of their son, but I must have missed the part
where they became such good chums he would drop
everything to sing at a party for her. Next thing
you know Tricia Dennison will come back and she and
Victoria will be best buddies.
Adam has quickly gone from being an enigma to
vaguely creepy. He has a personality Lois Lane would
have readily described as "milquetoast" and the way
he leers at Phyllis all the time is making him look
like a sociopath. Now he wants to buy this new
cosmetics company - what's with this guy and his
obsession with makeup? He came here from Wall Street
and has an opportunity to bring savvy business
acumen to Newman Enterprises and all he thinks about
is Beauty of Nature. I'm starting to think Adam's
sole purpose on this show is to make Nicholas and
Victoria look good by comparison. It's going to be a
tough job but it looks like he's up to the task.
