JT and Victoria have leftovers? What are they left
over from? Neither one of them cooks, they either
eat at the athletic club or they get take-out from
the athletic club. I hope the leftovers aren't left
over from when Nick and Sharon lived there.
Strange that Victoria would object so strongly to
changing the name of Beauty of Nature. When Newman
bought Satine she was the one who insisted the name
be changed to Safra for the very same reason Adam
now insists the name be changed for Beauty of
Nature. But I suppose she can't be expected to
remember that since she was Heather Tom at the time.
What a waste of space she and JT have become, both
marginal characters played by marginal actors.
If it weren't for Neil and Karen, JT and Victoria
would be the most boring couple in town. I suspect
the show continues to feature Neil and Karen for the
sole purpose of trying to make JT and Victoria look
interesting by comparison. Not an easy task but Neil
and Karen are certainly up for it. Not that anyone
cares, but since Neil asked Karen to move in with
him I find myself wondering where exactly Karen has
been living all this time. Probably at the athletic
club like everyone else.
Speaking of living arrangements, I bet the people
who live in Amber's building are thrilled with their
new neighbor, what with all the screaming and
yelling her and Daniel were doing this week. I
wonder if there's a noise pollution clause in her
lease. Between Amber and her overly processed,
bleached blonde hair and Daniel in his "wife beater"
T-shirt I half expected this to turn into an episode of Cops. I'd pay to see Amber
get tasered.
At the same time we saw Nicholas, also in his "wife
beater" T-shirt, playing video games with Phyllis.
Suddenly this town is filled with white trash. And
I've got news for you: it's about five degrees in
Wisconsin right now and no matter how well insulated
their homes are, even the trashiest of white trash
men aren't lounging around the living room in
sleeveless T-shirts. Where's the flannel?
I also find myself wondering, what is the lure Genoa
City has for the successful business types from the
exciting corporate world? Adam worked for a big
investment firm in New York, Amber worked for a
design firm in Los Angeles. Both left lucrative jobs
to move to... Wisconsin? Not that I have anything
against Wisconsin, mind you, it's just that - it
doesn't happen. There's no reason for it to happen.
We've already established there's no place to live,
and there's only one place to eat. People go from
the club to the coffee shop and back to the club
again on a daily basis. I wonder if there's a tram
or something. I remember one episode where Heather
was at the coffee house, then she went to the
athletic club and ordered... coffee. It all sounds
horribly tedious.
And maybe people would take Heather a little more
seriously if she didn't look like D.A. Barbie with
her hair hanging down and her ruffled shirts like a
reject from America's Next Top Model. Or maybe if
they weren't distracted by that huge mole on her lip
like it just ate the state of Ohio.
Or maybe... if she didn't live in Genoa City. Just a
thought.
