Hello friends. It's been a long time since I've
checked in with The Genoa City News. So much has
happened on The Young and the Restless since then,
and yet so little has changed.
In just the past couple of weeks I've been able to
see that Sharon, for example, is just as stupid as
ever. After snooping through Gloria's purse, Jack
and Sharon shared the following exchange:
Sharon: What is it?
Jack: It looks like nose drops.
Sharon: Maybe we should taste it!
Wow. Just - wow. Taste it? Really? I guess we know
who should never go on that show called "Are You
Smarter Than A Fourth Grader?" In fact they would
have to invent a new show for Sharon called "Are You
Smarter Than My Dog?" She would still lose.
Now Sharon is worried that Jeffrey Bardwell might be
spying on her in the shower. Honey, after sleeping
with half the men in town it's a little late for
modesty. Why should Jeffrey be the only guy without
getting a peek at the goods? And what's up with this
"Foundation" she's supposed to be running? Aside
from the fact that Sharon can't manipulate a
microwave oven let alone some foundation that doles
out money I'm still scratching my head trying to
figure out what exactly this foundation does. Aside
from keeping Sharon too busy to spread her legs for
Brad Carlton that is.
Meanwhile the quadrangle of Jack, Sharon, Nick and
Phyllis are playing house like it's no big deal
they've swapped wives. Wonderful to see how they've
gotten over that hurdle. And I see they're setting
up offices in some recently abandoned warehouse.
Gee, I wonder if that's the same warehouse where
Michael and Paul kept Sheila in a cage. Or maybe
it's the same warehouse where Victor set up that
recreation center for underprivileged youths until
Devon found a rich family to live with and we
haven't seen since. Not that I'm complaining, mind
you.
Why did everyone keep saying how great the warehouse
looked? There were sheets of plastic hanging
everywhere, the duct work was exposed overhead and
there was no furniture. Yet Amber walks in and
proclaims it should be kept just that way. Is this
some new architectural trend I'm not aware of? To
have a place of business that looks like it's
halfway through an episode of Flip That House? But
boy the place sure cleaned up nice. By Friday not
only had furniture been delivered but vases and
flowers were plentiful and an enormous bookshelf was
stocked full of a vast collection of books and odds
and ends. It was like half the cast of Trading
Spaces attacked it overnight. This episode brought
to you by The Learning Channel.
Speaking of setting up house, I'm rather puzzled by
Victoria and JT moving into where Sharon and Nick
used to live. As far as I can recall, the house in
question used to be a guest house on the Newman
Ranch which was given to Nick and Sharon when they
married. In fact, unless I'm mistaken, Sharon was
awarded the property in her divorce settlement and
Nikki had to ask her permission to live there. Now
it seems to have reverted to Victor's ownership so
he can hand it over to JT. But if that's the case
then why does he have to loan JT money to buy it?
And if that's not the case, why hasn't Sharon agreed
to sell it? I'm confused. More
