At the mausoleum
everyone is in shock. Chloe is Esters' daughter, Kate? Yes, in fact
Chloe said, "I am Kate Valentine" and got a hug from Ester.
Back in Victor's office, Victoria is mulling about when J.T. comes in
to say he knows she's disappointed, and that he found the letter she
left in the car. Meantime, Nick is reading the letter Victor wrote. In
Victor's voice, he apologizes for walking out when Nick was a boy, but
that's the way Nikki wanted it. Victor is counting on Nick to be a
better father than he was. Adam too is looking at his letter, but
there's no voice to go with it.
In Mexico, Nikki is on the beach calling Victor's name. When she sees
him, Victor carries her away to a nearby hut where Nikki says, "You're
real," and Victor says, "You shouldn't have come here."
Kate/Chloe spins her yarn. She wanted to make it in the world on her
own. But when Cane fired her, when he got her pregnant, she had to
come forward. Jill's not buying any of it and wonders if Katherine and
Cane are.
At the ranch, Adam complains to Heather that he's not the most
important Newman kid. All Newmans are not equal. With that, he tosses
the letter in the trash.
Victoria's turn, she looks at the letter while Victor speaks of being
in a better place and that he misses Victoria more than words can say.
Then, over at the magazine, Nick is seen being told that Victor was
harder on him than he was on Victoria because Nick is the man. Also
there, Noah lets it be known that he wants to go to public school.
Victor wants to know how Nikki found him. She got a lead from Walter?
As to how he survived the storm, Victor isn't giving any details
although he does say he's not running from the law which would
indicate he didn't kill Walter. What concerns Nikki now is that the
world thinks Victor is dead. People are in pain because they miss him;
his children are grieving, and if he doesn't tell them he's not dead
she threatens to do it and bring the law down on Victor too because
he's only feeling sorry for himself.
Bawling now, Nikki
goes on to say that Victor has suffered, but the family is suffering
too. He says that his suffering was her doing and he cares nothing for
her so stop trying to make him feel guilty. Nikki said she'll love him
until the day she dies. She won't leave him in Mexico because he means
too much to the family. "Save your breath!" Victor bellowed.
Reading more of her letter, Victoria learns that her smile was the
greatest reward she could have ever given Victor, and he's sorry for
letting her down. "You okay?" J.T. wonders, and after she explains,
adds, "That's Victor Newman for you. Always keeps you guessing."
Heather is trying to convince Adam that he should be happy Victor left
him the empire. She wants to read the letter, but Adam won't let her.
Noah wants to be like Victor. He doesn't want to go to a private
school because people will think he's had it easy. Nick told him he
has it easy. Noah is "Victor Newman's grandson" and so Noah better get
used to it.
Cane is upset. Chloe lied to him from the beginning. Katherine thinks
it's quite a coincidence that Chloe just happens to be pregnant,
hinting that she's after the Chancellor fortune to which Ester said
her "Katie" would never do such a thing.
Noah wants to prove himself, like grandpa did. He wants to start from
nothing and be something. He doesn't need a fancy education either;
just look at grandpa. The long and short of this conversation is that
Noah can go to Genoa City High, but he must promise to take some "AT"
courses to which Noah agrees and makes Sharon happy in the process.
Seeing Heather with the letter, Adam man-handles her, then says he's
sorry. "Don't let it happen again," she snapped, then when Adam wasn't
looking took the letter again.
Saying he's "never going back to that place", Victor continues ripping
Nikki. She's to blame for what happened to Sabrina. Nikki is arrogant,
and he can't stand the sight of her. When Nikki told how she started
drinking again, that she loves him, and what will it take to get
through to him, Victor wasn't swayed. "It's a sick love! A love that
deserves to die!" he said.
Alone with Cane, Jill
told him to get a lawyer and get rid of Chloe before she gets her
hooks in any deeper. At the same time, Katherine was telling Kate that
it's thanks to her that she had a comfortable upbringing, and for
Kate/Chloe not to make her regret it.
Sharon wants to know if Nick wants to talk about the letter. He
doesn't; he's not done reading it. Victoria too is reading more of her
letter, then informs J.T. that Victor said she found a way to touch
his heart.
Shaking Nikki now, Victor says neither one of them has the guts to
kill the other and then leaves the hut with her chasing after him.
Heather reads more of the letter where Victor tells Adam that the
other kids will come around in time and for Adam to be the bigger
person. Catching her again, Adam whines that he's the #2 son after
Nick and he's not as worthy.
Looking at a photo of Victor, when J.T. returns (he was off "making
some calls") Victoria told him that she's Victor's spirit.
With everyone so upset, the wedding reception is canceled. Food will
be donated to a shelter. Jill said that she's sell her soul if it
would get rid of Chloe. Ester came over to tell Jill that they're both
going to be grandmothers, hugged Jill, and Jill nearly lose her lunch.
Angry now, Cane spat some hateful things at Chloe before leaving.
Heather tries to convince Adam that Victor wasn't trying to hurt him.
Yeah, but it's those damn kids. Adam said Victoria and Nick have
always had everything handed to them and he's not sharing. Again,
Heather takes the letter and this time put it in her purse.
Reading more of his letter, Nick learns that Victor wasn't the
greatest father, but did the best he could. Victor also submits that
Nick is the greatest father a kid could have, and that Noah and Summer
are the lucky ones.
Back on the beach, Nikki is screaming Victor's name as he walks off
with the seagulls.

09.03.08
Jack meets
with Adam who has decided to buy ad space from RS. Adam talks about
the type of articles Jack does and the type of article Jack plans to
write about Adam and Victor.
Daniel seems annoyed when Amber speaks to Liam on the phone.
Nick and Sharon are with Noah are the coffeehouse. Nick is okay with
him going to public school if he keeps his grades up, takes part in
school activities and stays out of trouble. Sharon decides to give it
a try for one semester and see how things go. Noah is excited.
Victoria interrupts them when she gets a call from Nikki. Nikki
reveals Paul is with her and that she lost her phone (she's using
his). Victoria has Nikki on speaker phone, Nikki gives everyone the
good news that Victor's alive but the bad news is he doesn't want to
return. Victoria thinks Victor will, as he's done this in the past but
Nikki thinks Victor means it this time around.
Victoria and Nick are upset that Victor doesn't want to return. Noah
suggests they go to Mexico and find Victor but Nick says Nikki was
lucky to find him alive. Sharon says they are lucky to know he is
alive.
Adam returns home from work and greets Heather. Heather tells him that
there a lot of people hoping he'll fail. Adam jokes that he's sorry
he'll be disappointing his fans. Adam and Heather start to make out.
Frustrated Amber confronts Daniel for sending her mixed signals.
Daniel asks to meet Liam next Friday in New York. Amber will see if
Liam can make it.
Jack is
writing his article on Victor and Adam when Nick interrupts. Nick is
surprised when Jack speaks negatively about Adam, and not wanting to
trust him. Jack suggests Nick help him write this article but Nick
refuses. Jack tries to convince him again asking if he remembers
anything his father told him. Nick says Jack can ask Victor himself,
as he's alive! Jack is shocked thinking it is a trick Nick's family
cooked up to keep Newman away from Adam. Nick says that is something
Jack would do and wants him to delete that article now. Jack refuses.
Noah and Sharon are still at the coffeehouse. Noah wants to go look
for Victor but Sharon says Victor doesn't want to be found. Sharon
reminds Noah when Cassie died, and how he wanted to be alone. Sharon
says Victor's the same way, he's grieving for Sabrina. Noah says
Victor needs them but Sharon tells him that everyone grieves
differently.
Nikki asks Paul to take her home.
Brad tells Victoria he's sorry about her father and that he intends to
keep Victor's vision for NE alive. Victoria asks to see Adam and tells
Brad she has news about Victor!
Adam and Heather are making out, little do they know Victor is looking
at them. He doesn't look happy.

09.04.08
Victoria
daydreams about her and Nick being reunited with Victor. In her
daydream she apologizes for being a horrible friend to Sabrina.
Adam jumps up in a state of shock seeing his father appear before him.
Victor just stares at him and heads to his study.
Michael is at the coffeehouse and is summoned to the ranch; he
believes it is Adam who summoned him.
Victor learns from Estella that Adam made changes to his study and had
Zapato sent away to a kennel. He asks that she get Zapato back.
Jill contacts a lawyer to find out what rights Cane has. She wants him
to get an annulment from Chloe. Esther overhears Jill and Katherine’s
conversation in which Jill refers to Chloe as a tramp; she comes to
her daughter’s defense. Jill then turns her anger to Katherine asking
how she could not recognize her own goddaughter. Katherine explains
Chloe has changed a lot – she used to have blonde hair, braces and
used to be overweight. Katherine has Esther leave the room while she
questions Jill for being so hateful reminding her that she is going to
be a grandmother. Jill is still hell bent on Cane divorcing Chloe.
Cane gives Chloe the silent treatment. Chloe shows Cane her rights as
a mother and makes it known that before coming to Genoa City; she had
her name legally changed to Chloe Mitchell.
Lily and Devon come to get Ana’s bracelet and are surprised to see
Neil home along with his stuff from the office. They learn Adam fired
him.
Michael comes to the ranch and learns it was Victor not Adam who
summoned him to the ranch. Victor finds out Adam fired Neil and
appointed Brad CEO of Newman.
Jill goes to see Cane and tells him about her talk with a lawyer. Cane
thanks her for her help but asks that she let him handle this on his
own.
After Katherine encourages Esther to talk to Chloe, Esther shows up in
her maid uniform at the coffeehouse. An embarrassed Chloe takes her
out on the patio. Esther knows Chloe’s ashamed of her because she’s a
maid. Chloe says her mother will no longer have to be a servant as she
is a Chancellor now. Esther says she loves her job and that Katherine
needs her. Chloe then insults Esther’s choice of work and walks out.
Lily and Cane
are at the coffeehouse. They talk about Lily overhearing Chloe is
Esther’s daughter. Cane says he is having a baby with a woman he does
not love.
Victoria and Nick learn from Estella that their father is at the
ranch.
Neil comes to the ranch after getting the good news from Michael.
Victor gives him his job back.
Heather moves out of the ranch. Neil heads to the office. Adam is
summoned to the study while Victoria and Nick wait patiently to see
their father.
Adam is confronted by Victor for the changes he made while Victor was
presumably dead. Victor says Neil will be reinstated while Adam Wilson
is fired!
Lily shows up at Cane’s place, thinking about what he said earlier.
Lily says he will be a great father no matter what. They talk about
what a liar Chloe is and how she schemed her way that night with Cane.
Jill and Katherine fight about Chloe and the fact Jill told Cane to
pay Chloe off. Katherine says she knows all about gold diggers and
eventually they dig their own graves. Katherine refuses to make the
same mistakes she made the in the past.
Chloe shows up at the mansion with a suitcase. Chloe says Cane is
being mean to her and the stress is not good for her child. Jill
doesn’t want her living there. Chloe reminds Jill that she is carrying
a Chancellor heir and that stress is not good for her child, so the
best place for her to be is with her mother and mother in law. Esther
looks at Katherine, like she has no choice. Katherine smiles while
Jill fumes.
Cane and Lily are unable to keep their hands off each other. Lily
stops things from going beyond a kiss.
Victor not only fires Adam but also tells him he wants Adam off the
ranch! Adam walks out while Victoria and Nick are happy to see Adam
leave. They finally get to see their father.
