On the sofa at
the campus house, Cane tells Lily, "You seduced me, you little hussy".
Yes, she did, and she's so happy. Cane was hoping for something more
"dramatic", like Chloe and Devon walking in on them. Moments later
Devon and Chloe are outside the door counting down from ten before
going in. Once in, Chloe says she decided why shop in Genoa City when
she can shop in New York.
At Jabot, David is telling Paul that Nikki might not be coming back to
the office. Seeing her keys, Paul says he's sure Nikki will eventually
return. So David wants to know if Paul's visit has anything to do with
Mina. Did she tell Paul that he killed her mother?
A new worker at the coffee shop named Isabelle, a student at GCU, is
being shown the ropes when Nikki comes in and learns from Kevin that
Jill fired Gloria.
Up in the condo, Gloria says she won't let Jeff or Jill bring her
down. She's thinking about starting a charity of which she'll be the
executive director. Problem is she needs someone to fund it. Michael
says that won't change anything; she'll still be broke and unemployed.
Still at the AC, Jill and Jeff speak briefly about whether Gloria's
money will mend his broken heart.
Jump to the magazine where Jack is on the phone asking Al who's behind
the mystery donation and please find out soon. When Katherine arrives
to take Amber out to lunch, Jack asks if she's behind the donation.
She isn't, and she's never heard of the name of the charity Jack is
trying to track down.
Looking on the Internet, Gloria says she could start a lama ranch with
only two lama. Michael doesn't see how; she's broke! To get some
spending money he suggests she get a new job and actually work for a
living. She might like it. And it's not like she's never been poor
before. On second thought, why not work for Kevin full-time?
David's been keeping an eye on Paul. He knows that he's on a crusade
to discredit him, but Paul should know he loved both his former, now
dead, wives. Yes, their lives ended tragically. Paul hasn't been
talking to Mina too, has he? That business about Mina being cut out of
the will? That was "tough love". Mina had a drug problem. She even
worked in a "go-go bar" too. Thanks to being cut off, Mina got clean -
and he did too. Now if Paul will be so kind, he can leave. And Paul
does.
Saying good-bye, Cane leaves and Chloe tells Lily that she's about to
be signed by the "hottest" modeling agency in New York. Suddenly
though, Chloe looks ill and runs off to the bathroom.
At the AC gym,
Jack is working out with the help of a coach when Jeff comes along to
say that Gloria is destitute and would Jack let her move back into the
mansion? She needs to be close to John. Jack won't hear of it, but he
can tell that Jeff is still in love with her. Jeff doesn't deny it.
Jana and Kevin are making small talk when Gloria arrives to say she
needs a job. She'll work for $15 per hour plus tips. Kevin works her
down and she's now on the payroll!
Rehashing Gloria, Michael says she has only herself to blame. Still,
she was trying to do the right thing. He warned her about Jeff, and
now look. He and Lauren are running a charity without the tax benefit.
Checking his watch, David has a flashback to plunking down $40,000 on
a horse before Nikki returns to say she learned that Jill fired
Gloria. That's when Jill pops in to say she had to step in because
Nikki wasn't around. Fit to be tied, Nikki wants to talk about it, but
Jill has other business and leaves.
Chloe is bound and determined; nothing will stop her from going to New
York; not even the bile in her stomach that keeps coming up.
With Amber at the AC, Katherine talks about her book which Amber says
she could help with again now that she has so much time on her hands.
Now Jack has an anagram solver. He's using it to decipher the name of
that charity.
Carrying his aluminum briefcase, Paul arrives at the coffee shop and
is surprised to see Gloria working there. She says it's only temporary
as he gets a phone call. Mina King was expelled? Drugs were involved?
Cocaine? Yes, cocaine is "very serious" Paul says.
Devon is trying to figure out what's wrong with Chloe. Is she
pregnant?
Jack punches more words into the solver. The word 'Karma' pops out.
Then 'Gloria'.
Returning to take the ladies to the airport, Cane learns that Lily is
going alone. He'll come back to check on Chloe later.
Watching the horserace on his notebook, David loses again as Nikki
returns to say she's going to meet with Jill. Meantime, Paul is with
an older looking guy who knows his father and has obtained Mina's rap
sheet.
Now at the
coffee shop, Jack quips he didn't know it was bring your mother to
work day, harangues Gloria over what's on the menu, and finally takes
her out onto the patio after seeking Kevin's permission.
Nikki is in a rage. Jill had no right to fire Gloria and she's tired
of Jill's micro-managing. Oh, but Jill did have every right. Nikki
works for her. They argue back and forth until Katherine arrives to
say that Nikki is right. Besides, Katherine promised John she'd watch
over Gloria. Jill is pissed. She should have known the old hag would
side with Nikki and frankly, she's sick of it and won't stand for it
much longer.
Wearing the same yellow T-shirt, Mina returns to the coffee shop. Paul
nails her for having an ulterior motive. "You filled your nose with
snow", he says, saying too he knows she was expelled from school. But
Mina is sticking to her story.
Meanwhile David is calling Walter. He needs help. He's good for it;
honest.
Jana drops by the magazine to invite Amber out to dinner. Amber
declines, saying she'll be too busy working on an ad for Katherine
featuring her designs.
Chloe called Cane. She's still sick. Could he bring her laptop by? He
could. Hanging up, Chloe is munching on potato chips when Cane calls
back. He'll bring some ginger ale too!
Finding Jeff at the AC, Michael slams him for what he did to Gloria.
He'd call him a "scum" if doing so wouldn't be an insult to scum.
What's the matter, Michael? "Your mother sleeping on the sofa again?"
As Jeff starts to walk away, Michael slugs him.
Jack has heard about the divorce. He wonders if Gloria isn't still
rich. She gave the money away? Doesn't she have a job? Jill fired her?
Sorry to hear that, is Gloria staying with Michael and Lauren? Say,
how would Gloria like to move to the pool house? It's hers if she
wants it for as long as she wants. Gloria's eyes nearly popped out of
her head as she put her head on his chest much as doing so made Jack's
skin crawl.
Ready to leave the condo, Gloria will miss the
chicken dinner as her bags are packed and she's heading for the Abbott
mansion where Sharon has engaged the decorating services of interior
designer to the stars, Martyn, who takes credit for fixing up Elton
John's home. Sharon wants Martyn to make the mansion say this is
Jack's and Sharon's and Noah's home, and Martyn says one of the first
things they'll have to do is change the "vile" color of the living
room. Asking for a moment with Sharon, Jack pulls her away to say that
Gloria is moving in.
At the magazine, Nick has scored a coup. Ebo Marks is coming by for a
big pow-wow concerning Restless Style. Since it's the end of the day,
Phyllis says she's going to the AC for a workout, while Amber will
stay behind hoping to see Ebo.
Adam and Heather are already at the gym, kissing, and making small
talk.
Over at the campus house, Chloe, scantily clad, is trying to look
sicker for when Cane arrives.
Heather and Adam are agreeing they must keep up the appearance of
being professionals when Phyllis walks into the gym.
Before Gloria goes out the door, she and Michael exchange barbs. He
won't miss her, but she thinks he will, and really wants her to stay.
Sharon is pissed. Jack made a major decision without her. Jack says
there wasn't time. Gloria is broke, she gave money to his father's
foundation, and while he can't guarantee that Gloria's return won't be
any different than what they went through before, Jack says Gloria has
"seen the light." And like his father, who never gave up on people,
Jack says John would have wanted him to give Gloria another chance.
Sharon sees this as a bad omen. Jack says he "owes" it to John, but
Sharon can't forget that he made the decision without her.
When Ebo walks in, Amber pounces. She's a fashion designer and... Nick
cut her off, and sent her to get coffee as Ebo said he's got to be
back in Madison tonight.
Arriving with ginger ale, Cane says that Lily made
him promise to look after Chloe. They talk about Lily who Chloe sees
as unable to make the big time if she stays in Genoa City. Lily will
most likely then turn into a "diva". Cane disagrees. Lily has a
contract with Jabot and she'll be staying put. But if Lily does have
to leave the city, he'll go where Lily goes. So what does Chloe think?
Does Lily have what it takes? If not, what can he do to make it
happen?
Fen-Fen is walking already, as Michael tells Gloria not to come crying
to him when things don't go well at the mansion. When Gloria leaves,
Michael informs Lauren that he punched Jeff's lights out in defense of
a woman who is running her life into the ground.
On the phone with Noah, Sharon tells him to come home after the game,
and then asks Jack how they'll tell Noah that the wicked witch is
back. No problem, Jack says he'll talk to Noah about compassion.
Besides, Noah won't see Gloria because she's staying in the pool
house. Sharon objects. Noah likes to swim; he'll see Gloria when he's
at the pool. Can't Jack see that bringing Gloria back will tear them
apart?
At the gym, Heather has given Adam the key card to her hotel suite.
Back from changing clothes, Chloe tells Cane that Lily is not
super-model material and that rushing into a marriage with her won't
help. Just then Devon returns with - Lily! She missed the plane!
Surmising it's only a matter of time until he's arrested for assault,
Michael is comforted by Lauren who said he went to bat for his family.
Ah family, Michael can't help but think of the train wreck waiting to
happen for Gloria, Sharon and Jack.
Sharon is picking out colors when Gloria arrives to say, "I'm home!"
Lily thinks perhaps missing the plane was a good thing. Maybe she
shouldn't be rushing her career because she does have a contract with
Jabot. The situation testing Chloe's patience, she asks Devon to get
her some aspirin. "Get it your own damn self," Devon growls.
Back at the gym, Phyllis attempts to strike up a conversation with
Adam. The magazine has moved up ad deadlines so..."
Nick strikes a deal with Ebo concerning a music CD as a magazine
insert and, as Ebo points out, a "hyperlink" on the web site. Nick
notes the magazine has the 18-49 age ground sewed up, it's the teens
he wants to reach with the CD deal.
As Martyn
leaves, Fisher comes in and barks at Gloria, who says she'll be happy
to walk the dog; an idea Fisher growls at. So, Gloria asks, where's
her room? Jack has to tell her again she'll be staying in the pool
house which Sharon is happy to add they've been using as a doghouse
for Fisher. Nevertheless, Gloria is grateful, thanking them both as
she leaves.
With Cane and Lily on the sofa yammering, a changed her clothes again
Chloe returns to suggest that Cane go to the club to get her some
chicken soup.
Now at the gym, Nick runs into Adam who says that Nick is always
welcome at the ranch. Nick finds that quite ironic, and spotting
Phyllis she can't wait to tell him who Adam is sleeping with. Nick
tells about his deal with Ebo, and that it's a decision made without
informing Jack because turnabout is fair play.
Back at the magazine Cane
arrives to ask Amber if she's heard from Daniel. Oh yes, she has.
Daniel sends email telling her how much he misses her. But when Cane
leaves and Amber checks her mail, there is nothing from Daniel.
Michael can't help but think he's not a good father/son. Lauren
assures him he is. "You're a good father any child would be proud of."
Michael can't say the same from a son's standpoint. "My father was a
drunk." Yeah, but Lauren says Michael has made a wonderful life for
himself; one that will make Fen-Fen proud. Still, Michael worries.
What if Fen-Fen fantasizes about having a better father? If he does,
it will "kill" Michael.
As if anything has changed, Jack wants to know what Sharon thought
about Gloria's speech. It was insecure; why couldn't Jack have paid
for her hotel suite; bought her a condo. Why does she have to live
with them? Because she wouldn't have John there, Jack said, as Sharon
reeled that John isn't there anymore. She's also upset that Jack is
more concerned about Gloria that he is them. That said, Sharon went
upstairs.
And lo, John appears! Wally may look like him, but Wally could never
fill his shoes, says John telling Jack that he did a good thing
letting Gloria move back. "I thought you said you'd never come back,"
Jack asked. John said he's back because Jack made him proud. "You back
for good?" Jack wonders. Yes, John is back for good and Jack is all
weepy-eyed about it.
Out at the pool house, Fisher growls. Gloria is sitting in his chair!
Sitting on a suitcase, Gloria looks around. "Home, Sweet Home".
At the gym, Nick is telling Phyllis and Victoria
about a newspaper article alluding again that Victor really owns the
magazine, and that a "mystery buyer" purchased the art piece "Dennison
of the Deep". Nick wishes if only he could get out from under Victor's
shadow, maybe change his name like Adam did.
Out at the ranch, Victor is laughing about the newspaper article.
Sabrina suggests they make an announcement about Dennison. That isn't
the only announcement Victor wants to make as they both agree they
don't want to wait to get married.
Discussing the magazine's second issue with Jill at Jabot, Cane says
that Lily is doing good, but that she missed a flight to New York
where she was to meet with Apex Modeling. Jill is a bit taken aback
because Lily is on "exclusive" contract to Jabot. Cane doesn't see a
problem since Lily was sub-leased to Forrester Creations. Why not
renegotiate Lily's contract so she'll be free to freelance. Cane adds
there's nothing like "good old-fashioned nepotism".
At the campus house, Lily is on the phone trying to get a flight as
Devon pesters her about missing school because of her modeling. This
reminds Lily that a "guest author" is scheduled to speak to her
literature class.
Jack is baking cinnamon rolls and telling Sharon he shouldn't have
invited Gloria to move back without asking her first. A big deal
yesterday, Sharon appears not to have much interest in Gloria today as
Noah comes in all excited about a stickball game he's headed to as
soon as he has a roll. That's when Jack drops the bad news; Gloria is
back. Noah thinks he's joking. No joke, Jack says they've got to be
"charitable" to the less fortunate. So, will Gloria be there when he
gets back, Noah wonders. No, not from stickball, from Summer Camp!
Before Jack can answer, Gloria comes in to ask - where's breakfast?
The coffee shop finds Kevin wondering why Gloria isn't on the job yet,
and telling Jana he must have been crazy to let her talk him into
hiring his mother.
Noting where Noah is sitting at the table, Gloria says that's where
John used to sit when Jack asks if she's enjoying the pool house. She
is, and Sharon adds that Gloria probably will find a place of her own
soon. As for the hot rolls fresh from the oven, Jack tells Gloria to
take hers to the pool house.
Flash to Jeff briefly. He's on the phone talking to someone who wants
him to buy an island close to Fiji. Maybe, send a prospective.
Phyllis and the group can't understand how a dead shark can be so
expensive and who could have changed Victor's taste in art?
Back at the ranch, Victor wants to know if Sabrina
will be inviting her family to the wedding. She doesn't have one. Her
father died when she was twelve, and when he died her mother decided
she didn't want anything to do with the family and moved away. Sabrina
hasn't seen her since and has no idea where she is. Victor wants to
find the mother. No, Sabrina says it's too late and changes the
subject to Victoria who she wants to be her matron of honor.
Adam walks in with an update on the lawsuit, and leaves. Sabrina again
thinks Victor's snippiness with Adam is too rough, and that he should
go easier on him at home as opposed to the office where it's okay to
treat Adam like a boxing opponent. "Life in business is like a boxing
match," a dismissive Victor snorts, but then in an act of compassion
suggests he make Adam a part of the wedding ceremony. But Sabrina is
concerned about that. What would Nick and Victoria think?
Cane continues pushing Lily's career with Jill. Lily's success would
be their success. She'd be a star. Jill reminds him again that Lily
has a one-year contract, but agrees Lily could become a star. Is Cane
prepared for that? He is. Okay then, Jill says she'll order Heather to
amend Lily's contract.
With Lily saying she must leave today, Devon scolds her for never
saying before that she wanted to be a model until she got it into her
head that she should be like Dru. Devon wants her to finish school.
Lily says she can do both.
Gloria showed up for work and Kevin tossed a complicated latter order
at her which she handled with ease. How? She read on the coffee shop's
web site how to make all those fancy drinks. In come Jill and Jeff.
"Why, you little go-getter," Jill sneers at Gloria. See? The cosmetics
industry wasn't for her after all.
Victor is telling Sabrina he doesn't care what the kids think when
Neil arrives. After waiting for Adam to conclude his business with the
man, Neil talks of a business deal he thinks Victor should look at. No
time for that, Victor has better things to do. Besides, Neil is his
"most trusted employee" and can make decisions without him, so just do
it.
Jack has another great idea. Do a piece on Sabrina for RSM. Nick
interjects to say he's got the next issue cover covered. He's signed a
new, hot singer, Katy Perry. Jack wonders; is this payback?
Knowing somehow that Sabrina would be at the coffee shop, Sharon
zipped over to ask if she'd like to do a profile. She would, and when
Sharon leaves instructs an excited Jana to go out to the ranch to tidy
up a few things and makes her promise not to say a word to anyone
about Sharon's offer. On the phone, Sabrina calls Victor to say she's
going to ask Sabrina to be her matron of honor.
Neil is happy to see Victor happy and he knows who's responsible for
making the boss happy. Sabrina!
With Kevin wondering where Jeff got his shiner, Gloria says she'd like
to give him another one as Jeff summons the "waitress" for two more
coffees and "make sure they're hot this time. Oh, the irony.
Showing up a the campus house, Neil says he'd offer
Lily the use of his jet if not for it being serviced. He apparently
forgot that he sold the jet not too long after Victor gave it to him.
Predictably, Lily starts talking about how Dru was able to do so many
things at one time to which Neil responds that Dru would have been
proud of Lily, but she'd be prouder if Lily was to graduate with
honors from college.
Finding Victoria at Jabot, Sabrina tells her that she and Victor are
so much in love. As the room temperature drops to -30, Sabrina pops
the question: Will Victoria be her matron of honor?
NO!
Their coffee served, when Jill takes a sip she spits it out. Jeff
wasn't so lucky. He's choking! Jill screams for someone to call 911
and asks if there's a doctor in the house.
Cane arrives at the campus house to tell Lily that she's not tied down
to Jabot so long as she doesn't compete with other cosmetic companies.
Cane can see Lily now. Milan, Paris, New York, she'll soon be a star.
Sharon reported to Jack that Sabrina said yes and Jack reported to her
that Nick made a decision without their approval, but it just may have
been a decision that will help them get what they want.
Whatever Jana did at the ranch, when Sabrina returned she told Jana to
call an electrician. With Jana gone, Victor wonders if Sabrina spoke
with Victoria. She did. The answer was no. Oh well, Victor says at
least she tried. And that's one of the many things he's learned from
her; to always mend fences where possible. But Victor, Victoria was,
she was - so cold.
Gasping for air, paramedics arrive to haul Jeff away as Jill screams
for Gloria to get away from him.
Out of the blue, Lily made a decision. She's not going to New York!
Modeling is fun, but she was only doing it to be closer to Dru who
would have wanted her to finish school.
When Adam comes looking for Victor, Sabrina says he went to the gym.
Adam can tell something's wrong. Is there something wrong? There is.
She asked Victoria to be her matron of honor and boo hoo, she said no.
Arriving at Jabot, Victoria is surprised to see Victor there. Gosh, he
must have a good reason. He does. Is it true she turned Sabrina down?
It is. Is there anything Victor can do to change her mind? There
isn't.
Back at the magazine, Jack praises Nick before springing his idea to
which Phyllis and Nick both say no.
Jill threatens Kevin. She's calling her lawyer! His mother is a
lunatic, and he better damn well fire her. Seeing Gloria with tears in
her eyes, Jill rips her too. She better call her other son because
"every killer needs a good lawyer."
At the coffee shop Kevin is giving Gloria hell. Jeff
had an anaphylactic reaction. He, Kevin, could be sued, and Gloria is
fired! Meantime at the hospital, doctors are issuing orders as Jeff
complains he can't breath.
After announcing that she's going out to the ranch to inform Victor
that Miguel's aunt has developed diabetes and that Miguel will be
leaving permanently to care for her, Nikki listens as Victoria says
she recalls how Miguel used to top the Christmas tree. Then Victoria
tells of Victor being there earlier attempting to change her mind
about being Sabrina's maid of honor, and despite Nikki saying she had
every right to say no, feels bad.
Over at the magazine, Phyllis wants Nick to change his mind about the
Sabrina piece in RSM. When he won't, Phyllis says he's letting his
emotions rule his business decisions.
At the ranch, Victor tells Sabrina that each time he drives home he
thinks about her beautiful face and what a lucky man he is. She feels
the same way and Victor asks if she'll do him the honor of becoming
his bride. She will.
Nick is worried about the bad press if the Sabrina article was to run.
Jack says he should run it for the sake of the magazine, however.
When Victor mentions that Sabrina should find a "maid of honor",
Sabrina says no. She wants a "matron of honor", as Adam comes in and
is asked by Victor to be his best man. It will, this act, make Adam an
official part of the family. Adam isn't so sure he should accept the
honor because doing so would be an insult to Nick.
Back at the coffee shop, the Professor is there talking with Amber,
telling her that the Dean at GCU won't give him tenure unless he gets
published. Amber's got the solution for that. She's got connections at
RSM.
When Michael arrives, Kevin give him the low-down on what Gloria did.
Meanwhile, Gloria is at the hospital wanting to see Jeff when Jill
screams at her, "You tried to kill him!" adding that it'll be over her
dead body before Gloria gets anywhere near Jeff. Well then, Gloria
says she'll stay right there until she dies herself.
With the hot news, Amber reports to the RSM crew that Gloria
"poisoned" her husband. This causes Sharon much concern as she tells
Jack, "We have an assassin living at the pool house".
Back at the hospital, Jeff thinks he's ready to
leave, but starts gasping for air again. Jill calls out for help, a
nurse rushes in and chases Jill out before Jeff asks the nurse for
something to write on. Outside Jeff's room, Jill warns Gloria that
she'll be hearing from her lawyer as Michael arrives to say he might
take Jeff's case himself unless Gloria gets the hell out of there.
Nikki arrives at the ranch and as she starts to tell Sabrina about
Miguel, Sabrina says she already knows. As for Victor, Sabrina says
he's in the kitchen - cooking! Oh wait, here he is now. With Sabrina
going off to stir the sauce, Victor tells Nikki that he'll miss
Miguel, and she adds, "nothing lasts forever." She also recalls the
clock Miguel used to wind each day and says she'll send it to Miguel.
Sharon is glad that Noah is going to Summer Camp now that they've got
a killer in their midst. Jack says he'll deal with Gloria. To start
with, Sharon wants extra security cameras installed.
Jeff is writing a note which says in part that he loves Gloria like no
other woman. When Jill comes in he hides the note in his pocket as
Jill wants him to return to the mausoleum with her. He also wonders if
anybody came by to see him. Jill says no. Why, she doesn't think
anyone knew he was in the hospital.
Dropping by Jabot, when Nick learns from Victoria about Miguel he says
he'll tell Noah. Then Victoria goes on to tell him about Sabrina
asking her to be her maid of honor, she said no, and that she's not
going to let "the lady of the manor" break the bond that her parents
still have.
Nikki got into it again with Victor about his shutting the children
out. He says not true; they shut him out.
When Jill brings Jeff into the mausoleum Katherine isn't happy. "This
isn't a hotel," she snaps until Jill tells her that Gloria tried to
kill Jeff. Jeff says Gloria didn't want to kill him; it was an
"accident"; a "prank". Katherine agrees; Gloria would never kill
anyone. Besides, if Jill hadn't fired her, Gloria wouldn't have been
at the coffee shop.
With Lauren on the phone trying to reach Jeff's room, Michael screams
at Gloria that he could die! Gloria goes on and on about not meaning
to hurt anyone until Kevin says again he's worried that Jeff might
sue. Gloria continues; she cares about Jeff and needs to know if he's
alive.
Showing up at the magazine, the Professor says he
wants to write for RSM about art. Sharon thinks he'd be the perfect
man for the Sabrina job, but Phyllis reminds her that Nick won't sign
off on it. Jack pipes up to tell that Professor that if it was up to
him he'd be hired on the spot.
Nick is telling Victoria about the proposed article too; that he
hasn't approved because he's worried it might upset Nikki. Nikki pops
in to say it wouldn't upset her at all and Nick should go for it.
Telling Sabrina that he loves that they have so much fun together,
Victor agrees with her that they should have his family surrounding
them at the wedding. If that's what Sabrina wants, that's what she'll
get as Victor goes off to ask Nick to be his best man.
Serving Jeff tea, Ether says he seems nicer than before and leaves
giving Jeff a chance to take the note out and rip it to shreds which
he puts back into his pocket. Thing is; Ether saw him.
With Lauren still trying to reach Jeff's room, Gloria complains that
she was wealthy, now she's poor, unwanted and alone. Nothing Michael
can say or do will make it worse; not even his saying that she's on
the verge of arrest. Just then Lauren learns that Jeff has been
released. But is he dead - or alive?
Back at the magazine, Nick wants the Professor to write the piece and
leave no dirty laundry unaired. Victor appears just then to ask what
piece is that? When Nick explains, Victor says no problem. In fact he
already approved. Well, the important thing Nick says, is that he
approved, not Victor. Sensing the hostility, Victor leaves with asking
Nick to be his best man after Nick adds that Sabrina had the nerve to
ask Victoria to be her maid of honor.
At Jabot now, Nikki informs Katherine that Miguel is leaving Victor's
employ prompting Katherine to recall something that didn't happen.
Miguel never dated Ether.
Rubbing Jeff's shoulders, Jill butters him up. He's a good man who was
used and abused by a psychotic woman. Jeff blurts out it's not the
first time Gloria has done something like this.
With Kevin still snarling at her, Gloria begs and bawls for one more
chance. She wants Lauren to give her a job at the boutique!
As Amber tells the Professor about how great Daniel is doing, as
Daniel as apparently emailed some photos he's taken of Danny's tour
and the Professor thinks they are damn good photographs, Nick tells
Phyllis to stop meddling in Amber's life. But she won't, and in fact
suggests that the Professor's desk be right next to Amber's.
As Nikki backbites Victor about what he's done to the children,
Katherine says she's seen it time and again. At the same time Victor
has returned home to tell Adam that the ranch is his, Adam's home, and
when he's there Adam will not be considered an employee. Furthermore,
Victor has made a decision. Adam will be his best man. Yes sir! Adam
says, "It'll be an honor."
A new day in Genoa City, David and Nikki are
discussing Jabot Retro - everything old is new again - when Paul walks
in. Nikki asked that he stop by, but now she doesn't have time to say
much except that she wants him to conduct a corporate background
check. Heather is there too, and they're in a rush to get to a
pre-trial conference with the judge. Heather says Nikki doesn't have
to be there, but Nikki wants to give the case her personal attention.
Meanwhile, Victor is telling Sabrina he hopes this is the day he can
wrap Nikki up and start concentrating on their wedding. Does Sabrina
still want his family gathered around? She does, but she doesn't want
to force Nick and Victoria to do anything they don't want to do. She's
satisfied to have Adam onboard, and walking in at that moment Adam
says he's ready to kick some butt with regard to the hearing. Victor
adds that he hopes to send a message to Nikki to never, ever, take him
on, or his company.
Having breakfast at the mansion, Noah is excited to be going off to
Summer Camp and going shopping with Jack for some essential camp
supplies. Jack seizes the opportunity to tell Sharon that she's been
"a great sport" when it comes to letting Gloria stay there, and that
he's sure Gloria is "on her best behavior." That's when Sharon tells
him about Jeff, but Jack defends Gloria saying she must not have known
Jeff was allergic and that the whole thing will "blow over" soon.
From the pool house, Gloria is calling the mausoleum where Ether tells
her to stop calling; she can't tell Gloria anything no matter how much
Gloria begs her to have a heart. Snatching the phone away from Ether,
Jill tells Gloria that Jeff died last night.
After Nikki explains that she wants to do business with a cruise ship
company which will feature Jabot products, and that's Paul assignment,
she leaves. David notes that Nikki must trust Paul, and Paul fires
back, but can Nikki trust David? David changes the subject to Mina.
Did Paul follow-up? He did, and it seems David's story checks out, but
what did he do with the fortune? David says he blew it on gambling as
Brad comes in and Paul takes his leave.
With Jack and Noah off shopping, Gloria comes in to tell Sharon of the
"accident" which Sharon knew about. Gloria says she called Jill - who
told her Jeff is dead - and would Sharon call to verify?
Back with Jill, Ether can't understand why Jill
would say such a thing to Gloria. "Don't you have a floor to scrub?"
Jill growls as a much better looking Jeff comes in. Told by Jill that
Gloria won't stop calling, Jeff says he wants to talk with Gloria.
What she did was an accident. But, Jill asks, didn't he say that
Gloria has done this before? Jeff avoids answering.
At the coffee shop, Noah isn't thirsty. He's down in the dumps about
leaving Fisher and his mother alone with that woman; Gloria. It might
be different if he had a phone; he could call and check up. Jack told
him not to worry about Gloria. She's no threat and Noah can believe it
because Jack is following his instincts.
Sharon doesn't want to get involved, but she'll make the call using
Gloria's phone. Jill answers and knowing Sharon is using Gloria's
phone, tells her that Jeff is just fine and puts him on the line as
Sharon gives the phone to Gloria. After some chit-chat, Jeff grumbles
that the least Gloria could do is apologize in person.
Talking business, Brad informs David that he's used to more
autonomy... and what was Paul doing here? Just a corporate background
check for Nikki. "He's very good at what he does," Brad says of Paul,
warning David that they don't want Paul finding out about his gambling
problem. David says it won't be a problem, and without saying he
already told Paul, says he'll have another payment for Brad later
today.
Heather is thinking about Adam when he comes in and calls her "Wonder
Woman". Michael arrives for the court hearing which will take place
there at Jabot, he and Heather snipe at each other as Nikki runs into
Victor and does the same thing saying she's surprised he's not home in
the kitchen with Sabrina.
At the AC gym, Walter informs David that he's got the money and
expects to be paid back on time. What David didn't notice was Paul
lurking.
The judge in place, the hearing starts and then abruptly the judge
calls a recess.
The doorbell ringing, Jill gets rid of Ether before opening the door
to see Gloria who she dubs the "Hot Sauce Assassin". As Gloria comes
in Jill asks if she'd like some hot tea with a splash of arsenic, and
then gets to the point. Gloria has done this before. Done what? Well,
Gloria knows. Jeff told Jill; he made a death bed confession. By now
Gloria's falling into the trap. Jeff swore he wouldn't tell, she
mutters.
The judge wants the parties to stop wasting the court's time and
settle. She orders that Heather prepare a summary judgment on Jabot's
behalf and that she'll rule once that's complete. Heather informs
Nikki that this is good news.
Back home, Jack tells Sharon that he bought Noah a
baseball bat, sunglasses, and lots of other junk including a compass!
That Noah is one great kid and talking with him at the coffee shop
Jack says it was like Noah is his own son. Sharon notes that Noah will
be gone a really long time and worries that he might become homesick
before telling of Gloria's visit and how she helped find out that Jeff
isn't dead. Jack wonders: Why did Sharon help her? Sharon says she
felt sorry for Gloria which elicits from Jack a "you're the best"
reward for Sharon.
Jill wants Gloria to spill the beans; it'll make her feel better. Jeff
appears to say he agrees. "How could you?" Gloria seethes. Was Jeff
playing her? Does he hate he that much? Without giving up the fine
details up, Gloria leaves.
Jack also has a stash of sugarless gum and comics for Noah to take to
camp; stuff Noah calls "contraband".
Still at the gym, Walter is on the phone when Paul comes over to ask
if he's a member. No, just visiting. In town on business? Paul's a
regular. If Walter needs anything let Paul know. As Paul leaves, an
attendant comes over to tell Walter he was talking to Paul Williams.
Walter calls David who at that moment is paying Brad. With Brad gone,
David learns that Walter got bad vibes from a guy named Williams.
David confirms the guy is a PI. Not what Walter wanted to hear, he
hangs up leaving a worried looking David.
Nikki still isn't sure what a summary judgment is, but signs the
papers anyway as Victor is giving Michael hell. He doesn't pay Michael
to capitulate. Adam wonders if there's a plan B when Nikki comes over
to sneer only to have Victor sneer back that it ain't over yet.
Running into Heather, Brad asks how it went and seems happy with her
reply as he moves along. Heather calls to leave a message for Adam to
says she knows he must be disappointed. Adam isn't the only one.
Victor is ripping him for acting so cocky.
Michael went to the pool house looking for Gloria as inside the
mansion Sharon tells Jack she wants Gloria gone by the time Noah
returns from camp. At the same time, Jill wants to know from Jeff what
Gloria is acting so guilty about. It must be serious, but Jeff isn't
telling.
With Michael, Gloria tells him that Jeff told Jill everything. Jeff
wants her in prison, but she'll beat him to the punch. She'll turn
herself in before the cops come looking for her. It is, she says,
"Time to confess."
Back at the coffee shop, Paul is on his notebook looking at David's
rap sheet. Elsewhere, David is having a flashback when Nikki comes in
to say they won. David drops the bomb. Paul is investigating him and
she needs to be prepared to hear some terrible things, like he's still
gambling and that he's a killer!
