And then along comes one of those stories that makes you cringe down to your very core, but you already knew what to expect as it's been weeks since Nikki Newman was run down by Ashley Newman, left alongside a road in the pouring rain, and yet somehow managed to crawl her way to safety.

The cringe came late this week when son and daughter Nick Newman and Victoria Hellstrom, sitting around on their fat asses sucking on bad Jitter Joint coffee, discussed business first and their missing mother second!

First, what business do Nick and Victoria have to discuss? They rarely show up for work, don't have to go to work at all, and when they do don't do anything as Newman Enterprises runs itself.

Second, why would they leave such an important matter, that of finding their mother, to a glorified security guard turned pretend private eye who has trouble finding his own penis?

What the hell could J.T. have said that would have made Nick so confident his mother is going to be okay? Did J.T. say he has a lead on Nikki's whereabouts? No. Has J.T. even the slightest clue? No. Has Nikki made contact with any member of her family, or small circle of friends? No.

Likes to play Mama Bear to Nikki, even Katherine Chancellor knows better, but what does she do? She'll have let crazy Patty Williams get away Chance Chancellor look into Nikki's disappearance. Dumb as he is, Paul Williams displayed some concern that he hasn't seen or heard from Nikki since she left him at the alter. And then what does Victoria do? She's more concerned that Demon Sharpe may be blackmailing Amber Moore into a marriage.

And what of Nick's next move to make a return trip to the Funny Farm to rehash what he said earlier this week pertaining to pregnant with his baby Sharon Collins.

Gosh, my mother is missing, but I'd rather talk about who knows I'm the daddy to your baby. Good thing few know because Sharon wants to keep it a secret when she knows damn well secrets in Genoa City cannot be kept.
