First, a message to my Internet "family".

Since the GCN started so long ago, I am again moved by the overwhelming outpouring of concern and support you have given me following Gail's death. I'm not very good with finding the right words, but it means more to me than you can possibly know. I'm always amazed at how many people I've never met have become a part of my family or me a part of theirs. With the crazy times we live in, this relationship has kept me sane.

Today's Daze isn't my greatest, but I think it flows together and that a point was made which is always my goal even though in Genoa City the point is almost always the same: These are some dumb ass stupid people.

Are you still wondering why Neil Winters would want Victoria Hellstrom around Newman Enterprises after learning she helped Brad Carlton commit corporate theft? No? Asking Victoria if she'd like her job back was Neil's little way of kissing Victor Newman's ass, a job he does so well. Unhappy as she is that daddy was rude to her, will Victoria go back to that job because she needs something, anything, to do and being a stay-at-home mother is beneath her?

I'd ask why Victoria needs to work at all except that the answer is she doesn't. Employment around these parts is merely a tool for the rich. It's Jack Abbott saying he's a publisher with sensitive journalist radar. He knows too well that when people purchase a fashion magazine they expect to read the latest gossip surrounding those who publish the rag and their families. Jack would never throw hate balls at his deceased father, but throwing them at his partner's alive again father is fair game. It sells magazines!

$5-7 a pop, look Mary, there's an article about Mr. Newman. Did you know he has a black hole for a heart? Ain't that something? I'm going to masturbate. Turn your head, or not. Ah, that's better. I never knew. I've never heard all the other stories of corruption surrounding these people. I don't watch TV so how could I have seen all the press conferences? I wouldn't know that one of the publishers is an ex-con, or that the other is a disgraced state senator and the entire magazine is comprised of sex addicts and a slut named Sharon Abbott.

Who knew either that Noah Newman, rapidly aged to fifteen, would be such a pussy? Not so distressed when he heard that grandpa Victor could be dead that he had to have mommy take him home, the news of Victor's rebirth sent Noah on an emotional roller coaster even though before the news he'd spoken with gramps. Did mommy Sharon stay home to keep an eye on her fragile child? Wouldn't she have feared that Noah might get into the medicine cabinet, or call Dr. Olivia Winters for a prescription? Nothing too strong, Doc. Morphine with a Valium chaser would be nice.

But what can we expect from these human wrecks?
