What chronologically aged ten-year-old can
understand what it means when daddy sends him
packing and bellows that his name is again reduced
to Adam Wilson? Why shouldn't he expect to go back
to running daddy's company only to learn he's been
terminated and then whine that he can't understand;
he was doing such a great job. Now look, Adam is
without a job. What ever will he do now? Go straight
to daddy's nemesis and offer to engage is some act
of revenge? Tell Jack that he wants to stick it to
Victor, but has no idea how, and was hoping Jack
might have some ideas?
And lo, it was said that Jack doesn't work with
rookies. Really? Is Noah around? Let's go to the
videotape.
Sharon, rookie. Nick and Phyllis Newman, rookies.
Amber Moore, rookie. Daniel Romalotti, rookie. We'd
list other rookies on the staff except there is no
staff. Useless Style Magazine is a figment of
someone's imagination. It is a fantasy Jack so
desperately wants to control. It is Nick's "baby"
and he can't fathom seeing someone picking up an
issue from the newsstand knowing the magazine is no
longer his, but how, how will he get the money Jack
is demanding for control of it?
From his damn fortunate to have one trust fund?
Sorry, can't tap into that again for five years. Why
five years? Because Nick is only twenty-eight? Under
thirty? Trust funds aren't released in full at age
twenty-one? No, because Nick pulled that number out
of his ass. Can he get the money from that bastard,
"selfish" father of his, who has once again thrown
up barriers, yet continues allowing him to live on
the Ponderosa rent-free? Are those sirens? Won't
they wake up precious babies Summer Newman and Reed
Hellstrom? Is that Mama Newman throwing a chair
through a window? Someone call Security!
Oh, there is no security. The place was ripe for a
Lindbergh kidnapping until Victor hired a goon to
keep the rift-raft out. From the outset that wasn't
working well because free to roam at will Michael
Baldwin got to approve Adam's return who only got
thrown out again. No wonder Jack said at first he
won't work with him. Anyone who says he no job, no
place to go, then threatens to leave adding that
daddy will never see him again isn't very bright.
However, I must say Adam hit the nail on the head
when he said today that Genoa City is a "cow town".
The head cow being none other than his step-mother
who was singing a different tune today when daughter
Victoria accepted the job at NE.
What joy there was. Nikki hacked that perhaps Victor
does have something resembling a heart after all,
and Victoria, after puking that brother Nick might
feel she was taking something away from him, after
receiving Nick's blessing and accepting the job that
mother said Neil is so "desperate" to have her fill,
said it's true: Daddy really does love her. The joy
was further enhanced when hunkmonkey J.T. Hellstrom
returned home to learn that with the cow moving
elsewhere to chew her cud, he and the battle axe can
have sex again.
Please do not scream. The same old story, rehashed a
million times. Can't get what they want, spoiled
children throw fits. Get what they want, spoiled
children become orgasmic. Nearly the same with Nick,
he was worried until the "miracle" arrived and it
wasn't a baby. It couldn't ... it is! Lookie there!
Just what Nick needs. But what is daddy's ulterior
motive? Nick wants his magazine back, but not if it
means he can't say he did it on his own. He needs to
prove himself as man, a father, and husband. Then
again, maybe not. There is, after all, the
foretelling of Jack needing a reason to hookup with
the evil Bardwells. There is Jack knowing that Adam
is shacking up in Heather Stevens' hotel room and
there he is at the door, the guy who doesn't work
with rookies, asking if the rookie would like to
work with him to take Victor down. The rookie says
Victor's not worth it, but he is, and Adam's all hot
to trot. He may even help Jack find a way to have
Victor declared incompetent so that he can freeze
the account which Nick can now drawn unlimited funds
on.
Ah, when you're in Genoa City, life is so hard.
