And when did Kate Valentine go "missing"? Is it
possible for a mother not to know where her child
is? Would any child who hasn't seen its parent for
years give a shit that daddy or mommy are lowly, but
well-paid, servants? Is living in America all about
class? Did anyone believe her story today that she
wanted to make it in the world on her own, but that
when Cane fired, and knocked her up, she had no
choice?
Spoiled as he is, Devon Hamilton didn't care that
his sister's guardian was a lowly motel manager.
Devon didn't throw a fit and say he wasn't going to
rub elbows with the lost family members because of
their social status. Who, exactly, funded Chloe
Mitchell's education? She is educated, isn't she?
She didn't just fall into New York City and become a
fashion expert, did she?
It should be interesting to learn how mother Ether
Valentine lost track of daughter Chloe, but Chloe
didn't lose track of Ether. Who knocked her up will
be the big story, how she thought she could worm her
way into Chancellor money and wouldn't be found out
will most likely be some convoluted chain of events,
but for someone so conniving, why did she wait so
long and if she knew so much about Ether, wouldn't
she know Ether isn't poor and that old lady
Katherine Sterling set aside a trust fund for her?
Imagine the possibilities. Kate/Chloe could have
saved herself all the headache by simply coming home
to mommy. With her big mouth, Ether would have told
her about the trust fund and Chloe could have got
access to it by simply saying she wanted to start a
fashion magazine, or something. With Katherine close
to kicking the bucket any day now, who knows what's
in the will? Kate can bet there's more than a rare
book collection waiting for her. With Amber Moore
her BFF, why doesn't Kate know that all Daniel
Romalotti had to do was write a business proposal on
a napkin while driving to the Mausoleum and was
granted his wish? If Kate has a little patience, she
need only say in passing she wants to become a
famous photographer and within a month she'd be one.
Better yet, with no previous experience as a sketch
artist, Kate could scribble out some fourth-rate
kindergarten drawings and New York galleries would
be begging to show her work.
But no, it's more fun to plot and scheme. It's
laughable when Jill says she'll sell her soul - if
it means getting rid of Chloe - because who would
buy it? Doesn't Satan already own it?
It's easier to have wanted nothing to do with his
rich father while his Kansas farming mother was
alive, but let Hope Adams die, and there's Victor
Adam Junior sitting under an oak tree dreaming about
owing the Newman Empire. There he is puking and
hacking that the siblings born long before him have,
all their pathetic lives, been given whatever their
little black hearts desire, and now that he's
running the sandbox he will not share.
It's nice to see Noah Newman wanting to be like his
grandpa. Now that he's entering high school, Noah
doesn't want to attend the private Walnut Grove
Academy, he wants the public school, Genoa City
High. He doesn't want people to think he's a rich
kid even though his name is Newman. Peasants of
Genoa City, behold! Noah Newman shall attend your
public school despite daddy Nick having said that
he's "Victor Newman's grandson" as opposed to Nick
Newman's son which one might think would carry an
equal amount of weight. Well, daddy doesn't like it
much, but Noah may attend that lowly school so long
as he promises to take some "AT" courses, whatever
the hell those are unless AT stands for advanced
training. Hey, if Lily Winters can do it, Noah can.
It's nice to see Nick and sister Victoria Hellstrom
out on their ass, but it's not like anything has
changed. They remain spoiled and rich. Always have
been, always will be. So daddy didn't give them what
they wanted? So Nick might have to buy a home of his
own? What is the big F-ing deal? Why should they
care who runs the empire? Why do they work at all?
When the gold spoons were first shoved into their
foul mouths, when they were accepting all those
things VAN says they were given, Nick and Victoria
didn't invest? It's not like they have mortgages to
pay off, they both continue living on daddy's
property rent-free. They want for nothing except for
what they want and can't have. It's like Bill Gates
not satisfied with being one of the richest men in
the world, he wants to be the only richest man.
If there was but one single poor person in Genoa
City you might feel sorry for whoever it is. You
might be interested in how that person will pay the
bills or what it's like to be unemployed or not
knowing who the parents are, but with these rich
freaks you don't care because they are never
satisfied. Give 'em the world and they'll still find
something to bitch and moan about.
