It's easy to comprehend why Noah Newman's friends
weren't on hand to bid the kid farewell today. Most
of them are imaginary, or like former Newman slave
Miguel Rodriguez, often spoke of but not seen.
What's not comprehensible is where Jack Abbott was
today only hours after saying that he feels so close
to Noah the word 'step' in step-father should not
apply because he considers Noah more of a son than
his own son, Kyle.
After taking Noah shopping, after nearly buying out
the local sporting goods store, Jack was AWOL today
when it came time to take Noah to the bus stop where
the kid caught a Greyhound to Rapidly Aging Summer
Camp. Isn't there something weird about that? What
was the reason Jack couldn't have gone along with
Sharon Abbott to the bus stop? Was it really a bus
stop located somewhere in downtown Genoa City?
Wouldn't it have been the bus depot PI Paul Williams
and the GCPD have searched whenever people go
missing, or run away?
And where was Phyllis Newman? Didn't she know this
was the day Noah was going away never to be seen
again until he's eighteen? Hasn't Phyllis said that
Noah is like her own son, or am I confusing
Christine 'Bug' Blair who once said that Daniel
Romalotti is like her own son, and yet when Daniel
went off on his faux father's rock and roll tour the
Bug wasn't around to say bye-bye?
When Danny Romalotti was in town, why didn't he
track the Bug down? He could ask if she still has
his one-hit disc in her CD player. We know the Bug
is still in Genoa City because law partner Michael
Baldwin recently said so. This, despite a few days
ago Baldwin said he'll be working out of his home,
there was no mention as to whether he'll be closing
the Baldwin & Blair Law Office where allegedly he
still employs a secretary who refers all those
important calls to him and fends off the bevy of
potential clients.
So worried was Noah about the dog he's leaving
behind in the midst of wicked woman Gloria Bardwell,
there was no parting scene between a boy and his
dog. Nor was there parting shots between a boy and
his grandparents. Given how Nikki Chow and Victor
Newman, more so gramps, have said repeatedly how
important family is, considering their close
encounters with grandson Noah, where were Nikki and
Victor? Yes, they had an important lawsuit going on,
but surely before the office-calling judge returned
to Jabot with her ruling, granny and gramps could
have spent a moment or two with Noah to wish him a
fond adieu.
Truly amazing was biological father Nick Newman,
puking his guts out again today that Victor doesn't
know how to be a daddy, couldn't be bothered to
accompany Noah to the bus stop. Nick finds the time
to race to his sister's side each time Victoria
Hellstrom farts, but he couldn't get away from the
office for Noah? Yup, we got a "great kid", Nick
told Sharon today, but not so great Nick couldn't
get off his ass.
Mark my words. When Nick said that he'll visit Noah
at camp on "Parent's Day", there won't be any such
visit. I'll eat my hat if there's even an
implication that he did.
Finally on this topic, how subtle was it for Noah to
say he's not a kid anymore, or for Sharon to say
Noah is "eleven going on eighteen"? Does she know
he'll be back soon as an angry teenager? Will she,
and the rest of the adults, have aged seven years
too? What about step-sister Summer Newman? Why
didn't Noah say good-bye to her?
