Poor, poor baby Victoria Hellstrom. She shot off her
foul mouth, she trashed BFF Sabrina Newman, and when
the truth came around to bite her sorry ass she went
running to apologize for being such a C-word. Only
it was too little too late. Sabrina is dead. Oh, if
only Victoria hadn't been such a C two humans, if
you consider an unborn baby human, might be alive.
And then, approaching dear daddy at the God Have
Mercy Medical Center today she was so devastated
when Victor Newman told her and that bastard son of
his, Nick Newman, to "kindly" leave.
As I wrote when this saga broke out, it was only a
matter of time before a member of the Newman family
would say that no matter how they hate each other,
during times of tragedy, the Newmans always come
together. Sure enough, Nick said that today and no
sooner had the words passed his big teeth, Nick, in
response to sister Victoria's bawling that daddy
doesn't have anyone supporting him during these
tragic times, spewed oh yes he does. Victor has Adam
Wilson to turn to!
Like I'm so inclined to say, how about those family
values?
It will get worse.
Predictably, although it's Victor will all the power
and security forces, because Nick told daddy that
he'd keep an eye on mommy, he'll start playing the
guilt game. To atone for his sin, Nick will become
determined to see Ma through her difficult time.
Once Nikki tells the kids that she's not going to
grieve for David, she'll refuse to discuss him at
all which Dr. Nick will diagnose as bottled
feelings. Nick's prescription will be to take Ma to
see the horse David bought her. See Ma? You gotta
get back on that horse and ride as if you never fell
off.
Better than any cough medication Dr. Olivia Winters
could provide, the treatment works and Nikki comes
out of her shell. Then it'll be Nikki's turn at the
Blame Olympics. How could she have been so stupid to
have trusted David, blah, blah, hack, hack.
Getting back to today, how funny was it when Michael
Baldwin, at the Ponderosa with Victor, said that one
of his friends on the police force had called to
tell him about the accident involving Nikki and
David Chow. Given that Michael is, as Jack Abbott
says, but I said it first, an ambulance chaser, does
Michael pay traffic cops for tips like this? It
wasn't a very good tip at that as Nikki wasn't in
the wreck. Considering that Victor is much more
powerful than Michael, why didn't one of Victor's
cop friends call him? Why did he have to hear of the
accident from Michael first? Why didn't pretending
to be a PI, but works for Victor, J.T. Hellstrom
call him? He called Nick and Victoria.
Better yet, who learns of an accident and drives to
the scene? When those working crash scenes see the
great Victor arriving why do they bother telling him
he can't cross police lines when he does anyway?
Understandably it was dark, Victor assumed Nikki was
in the limo, but before screaming at one of the near
death victims, why didn't Victor ask the rescue
people if anyone had been thrown clear of the
wreckage, or walk around for a look see himself?
For all the medical emergencies at the GHM, I've
never understood why the hospital doesn't have
security on duty to keep out the riffraff. Why was
J.T. and his mentor Paul Williams allowed near Nikki
as the quacks tried to stabilize her? Who but a
moron would ask the victim if she recalled when she
first started feeling dizzy as Paul did?
"Oh, I don't know, Paul. Does it matter?" Nikki did
not say.
Are you at a loss to understand how there could be a
warrant out for David's arrest? Even if a vial
thought to have contained morphine was found on his
dead body, what authority tested and confirmed it to
be morphine? What proof was there that Nikki
ingested morphine? What police investigation was
there that proved David drugged Nikki and got a
judge, late at night, to authorize a warrant?
Was it simply a coincidence that a nurse would tell
the patient that she'd checked with the doctor and
he said it would be okay if Nikki wanted a sip of
ginger ale? How about a Big Mac too? Add to that
craziness, hooked up to an IV on wheels, Nikki
hauled her ass out of bed and made her way to the
ICU where Victor was talking with a just opened her
eyeballs Sabrina and not a single nurse or doctor
noticed? Did Nikki forget that's how Cassie Newman
died? Okay, so Cassie managed to walk out the front
door, but God have mercy.
You might, like me, be also confused as to what
Victor saw when he lifted the blanket off Sabrina
and looked at her belly. Whatever he saw almost made
him gag. Did someone cut the unborn baby out of
Sabrina's belly? If Sabrina was four months
pregnant, was she showing so much that when Victor
saw her tummy had gone flat he knew the baby was
dead? Do women who have just lost their babies want
to hear their men say not to worry, that they'll try
again and have lots and lots of babies? Is Victor's
sperm that potent? Pity the poor kids who survive.
When they're age ten they'll have a father in his
eighties. But then in Genoa City that's probably
okay as there's always a younger man willing to step
in and play step-daddy.
