So I'm sitting here shaking from yesterday's news that clueless PI Paul Williams can't make a move to save Nikki Chow before she's in serious danger because doing so might cause her death. Like you may be, I am banging my head against the wall. How does this make any sense? Why hasn't the FBI been called in? I asked from the outset why at the very least Genoa City's Keystone Kops haven't been alerted. Are you stunned that Victor Newman is allowing this to happen? Granted, Nikki's been a real bitch to him lately, but she is the mother of his children. We know this all too well. We know that as of this writing Nikki is not in any actual danger. If an FBI agent was to show up and tell her what's happening, to tell her to stay far away from David Chow, there's any number of places she could seek safety. For one, there is Victor's security force ready to protect her. Okay, so Newman Security has never really been able to prevent bad guys from entering the Newman Ponderosa and having their way with victims like Sharon Newman Abbott and Daniel Romalotti, but here's the question:

If the FBI told you that your life was in danger wouldn't you ask for protection until the danger had passed? Would you decline for fear of the "negative press" generated because a charity event you weren't in charge of might be harmed by your scandalous marriage to a mobster? What's more important, money or human life?

Ah shucks, I went and answered my own question. In Genoa City, money is more important.

Another question then:

When has negative press ever had a negative impact on anything? For all the negative press about Jabot Cosmetics, the company thrives today as it always has. It is therefore stupid that headmaster Jill Abbott would say this week that she doesn't want the public learning that Jabot employs unsavory characters. When has Jabot not employed unsavory characters? When has Newman Enterprises? How many employees have been murdered? How many times have the police raided the place? How many criminals are connected with Useless Style Magazine? Shall we count them?

1 - Jack Abbott - Disgraced State Senator the least of his crimes.

2 - Nick Newman - Arrested how many times? Put in prison and jail how often?

3 - Phyllis Newman - Ex con, suspected arsonist and Sasha Green's killer.

4 - Daniel Romalotti - On the run from the law twice; on probation in connection with the death of Cassie Newman.

Somewhat belated, here's another question:

Why would an FBI informant agree to tell Paul what he knows about anything? Why wouldn't the FBI agent who arranged this communication simply inform Paul what he'd been told by the informant? Why would the informant put himself at risk?

You already know, but I'm going to say it again: This is not drama. It's stupidity and we the fools for engaging it.
