I'm disturbed today, and it's not my usual
disturbance brought about by overdosing on meds in
order to maintain some sanity while writing about
the people and events in Genoa City. It has nothing
to do with why Cane Ashby had to walk six miles
along a deserted highway to get gas and three of
those carrying a can filled with gasoline. Amber
Moore and Professor Gerbil going to their place of
work to canoodle on the sofa after hours, who does
this, and why does Amber have a key to building
doesn't bother me as much as the apparent,
impending, takeover of Jabot Cosmetics by Gloria
Bardwell.
Expressing this concern to a colleague didn't help.
I was told a power shakeup at Jabot is long overdue.
CEO Nikki, why are my teeth yellow, Newman Chow has
been there too long and she's not much more
qualified than Gloria to run a toxic chemical
company. With Nikki about to be kidnapped and held
in an abandoned warehouse, or something similar,
until Victor Newman can save her from co-CEO David
Chow, with Nikki leaving the office every five
minutes to attend pity parties with her daughter and
parent company owner Katherine Chancellor, with
David out working imaginary business deals, with
Chancellor Industries CEO Jill Abbott focused now on
Jabot attorney Heather Stevens' personal crusade to
find who killed Mr. Kim Chee, Jabot is ripe for
picking.
That's fine, but it doesn't resolve the issue as to
how former Jabot power broker Jack Abbott might
return to become Gloria's brain since she so
obviously needs one. There's a long-standing court
order preventing Jack from so much as walking into
Jabot. He frequently violates the walk-in part with
impunity, so how can Gloria get around this little
problem?
According to her slippery husband Jeff, once he and
his wife have purchased a major "stake" in Jabot
eventually making a hostile takeover possible, with
Jabot owed by Gloria, the court order will no longer
apply to Jack. Details at this point are sketchy,
but can you imagine Gloria's ambulance-chasing
lawyer son making this happen? There won't be any
opposition by Jabot's corporate attorney, because
Heather will be much too busy to handle anything
company related. There won't be any appearance
before a judge, Michael Baldwin will wave his magic
wand and the order will disappear. Additionally,
Baldwin will ask Jeff to turn the poison skin cream
over so that there won't be anything to hang over
Gloria's head. Jeff will agree, but then discover
that his Korean girlfriend swiped the cream and took
it back to Korea.
And along the way there will be much fallout. The
existing animosity held by angry Nick will rage to
the point where Jack, and perhaps his whorish wife
Sharon, will bail out of Restless Style Magazine.
Then Sharon may bail on Jack when she realizes he
and Gloria have become partners, and for sure when
Sharon gets that Gloria won't be leaving the mansion
any time soon. Depending on how long it takes Nick
to figure out that his wife Phyllis has become a
liability, until her son returns from Summer Camp
rapidly aged, Sharon will have Nick's shoulder to
cry on.
Back in Genoa City as an angry teenager, like Adam
Wilson, Noah Newman could seek revenge on Jack for
screwing his mother over. Noah could lurk at the
Athletic Supporter Gym overhearing Jack's
conversation concerning the Villain of the Week. He
could then ask his girlfriend, Daniel Romalotti, to
get him information on the villain to use as
leverage against Jack and so, as we know, the circle
of hate will go unbroken.
