Speaking of life-support, who besides a girlie-man would give the engagement ring he planned to give the love of his life to another woman and then beg Lily Winters to wait for him? God forbid Lily find a real man before Cane's marriage ends. This is further confusing because Cane keeps saying he married Chloe for the baby's sake. Not baby Lily, the unborn baby Cane. How, exactly, will this work? Cane stays with the bitch until the baby is born and then he leaves her? If the goal is for the baby to grow up with both its parents, wouldn't that mean Cane is stuck with Chloe for the duration, or until baby Cane is old enough to understand that in Genoa City it's a wonder children know their parents at all?

Creepy too is Cane's not wanting to partake in an engagement party his mother wanted to throw for him, but to keep Jill Abbott happy will agree to attend a reception party.

Interesting too is Neil Winters saying this week he wanted to go to Karen Taylor's "place" because his seems so empty right now. Where is Karen's place? Have you noticed that for two people who just lost their jobs they haven't filed for unemployment? Nobody in this city ever does. It's as if they know they'll be given new jobs, or places to stay for free, if they wait long enough.

Ever notice too that medical maladies have a way of catching? A few days ago Heather collapsed, and with so much grief going around surely there will be others. Like Nikki Chow. Will she faint at Victor's memorial, or when she sees him strolling along a Mexican beach? Will she ever have her marriage to David Chow annulled, or is it enough to say she's Mrs. Victor Newman? And what will Victor think of that? Please god, after all Victor said about Sabrina being the only woman who truly loved him, don't let him take the honor of being the last Mrs. Newman away from her.

Not a real big deal, how will Nick Newman explain that Nikki stayed behind? "Gosh, she was on the plane before it took off. When I woke up she was gone. I didn't see any point of going to look for her because, well, she could have been anywhere! She could have gone straight to that bar and what would I have done? Demand she come home? You know how Ma is when her mind is made up. Okay, so I fell asleep. Don't you snooze before the plane has taken off? I mean, who could have foreseen Ma would go back to search for daddy alone? Yeah, she started drinking again, but she swore it was for only one night. Don't all alcoholics fall off the wagon and jump right back on? Give me a stinking a break! How's Noah holding up?"

Have you noticed that Daniel Romalotti isn't taking Victor's so-called death as hard as the others? Isn't Victor his step-grandpa or something? Daniel pretends to be concerned about half-bro Noah Newman, but not the money man? And what's up with Noah claiming to be such a big boy now he doesn't need mama Sharon Abbott worrying about his learning about grandpa, but when he does breaks down bawling? When was the last time Noah spent time with Victor? How is it that Noah can get bent about step-daddy Jack Abbott trashing his real daddy, and grandpa, but then shake hands with Jack as if nothing happened? Jack better hope Noah is out skateboarding when that TV interview airs in which Jack says Victor has, or had, a black hole for a heart. Then again, maybe not. Noah will probably have forgotten by then what a slug Jack is.

After all, it is easy to forget in this town. It's been months since anyone thought to ask where Zapato the dog is. We know Fisher Abbott has bonded with Gloria and she loves picking ticks off him, but shouldn't someone be at least refilling Zapato's automatic food and water dispensers? Perhaps that's a job for the maid who must be pulling her hair out never knowing for sure how many places to set at the table. "Mr. Adam! Thank god you're back; the lobster is starting to spoil."
