What a coincidence too that on this day of daze Chloe would talk about her parents. Her dad left her mother before she was born. She used to have a stuffed giraffe named Elmer, but one day her mother cleaned everything out of her room and replaced it with new stuff. The kids at school made fun of her because she was so geeky, and vague as the story was, it was reason enough for both Cane and Chloe to agree that their child will need both its parents, and for Cane to say for the umpteenth time that he's marrying the bitch for the baby's sake.

Speaking of big business, with Victor Newman's will about to be read - and Victor Adam Newman seizing control of Newman Enterprises - we're hearing VAN will not assume the CEO position. That's a job for - Brad Carlton! Just the thing for a businessman looking for stability; jump to (again) a very unstable company. If it doesn't work out Brad can always go back to Jabot. Then again, maybe shareholders will raise a ruckus. They may be concerned NE isn't being run by a Newman because doesn't the company do so well under Newman control?

And poor Neil. Just yesterday he was saying how Victor was like a father to him and what happens? He's out on his ass; fired by VAN, who invites Heather Stevens to move to the Newman Ponderosa with him. If it's one thing the suffering from stress Heather will do, it's to move where there's lot of stress and she doesn't know from one day to the next if the next knock on the door will be Victoria Hellstrom ordering VAN out. It's not like Heather has lots of baggage.

For all the crazy happening today, how about those officials in Mexico? They are nothing if not efficient. Based on a single piece of boat wreckage, a boat that Victor was said to have been on, it's enough to issue a death certificate and the certificate has already arrived in Genoa City. In fact, Neil was shown the document before VAN fired him. Neil said he wanted more time to "read" the certificate and unless it was written in Spanish, how much time does it take to read the part where it says THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT VICTOR NEWMAN IS DEAD?

Also in need of being convinced, Nikki Chow agreed to leave the search for Victor up to hunkmonkey J.T. Hellstrom, who is putting together a search team which Nick will rejoin once he's taken mommy home. Of course, she can't leave until her bags are packed and who, in a rush to get to Mexico, packs more than a tooth brush? How is it that no sooner had the bartender called for a taxi a horn was blaring outside? Is there's a taxi stand out there? Are their Mexican officials calling the bar to relay to the surely she's still hanging out there "Mrs. Newman" that only she can identify the body that has just washed ashore? Would Nick not recognize his own father? By golly, he might not. Knowing Nick he'll need help. Give him more time and Nick might order a private team of forensic experts to check the body. That would give Nikki more time to take a stroll on the beach and just happen to be there when Victor walks out of the ocean.
