As for where cousin Ana 'It' Hamilton moved to, a
question asked in yesterday's daze, it seems more a
question of where Katherine Chancellor wants the kid
to move. Weren't you moved when Katherine rolled
into the Indigo all concerned about Ana's education?
Seems the old lady is still getting calls about that
"little girl with the big voice" who sang at the
gala. Learning from aunt Tyra Hamilton that the best
she can get for Ana has been some rotten public
schooling, Katherine announced that if Tyra is
willing to go through the hassle of filling out
applications, she, Katherine, will bestow upon the
little tyke a scholarship to a school in New
Hampshire!
Boy howdy, if it's one thing a 12-year-old girl
wants, it's to be ripped away from her mother and
new found family, especially cousin Devon Hamilton
with whom It has developed a very creepy
relationship whereas Devon calls her "squirt" and
she calls him "old man". My cat named Squirt is one
thing, but if my daughter was calling her older
relative "old man", if that relative was the
sexually deviant Devon who once said he had a sexual
interest in foster sister Lily Winters, I'd keep
those two very far apart.
Forget the part when Devon and It were humming
together in the Winters' wooden box, and It just
happened to say she wishes she could write songs
like Devon, and he said she can if she wants because
they have schools for that - but which he doesn't
have to attend - and that the school is very "far
away" but he won't object to her going, never mind
that Devon forgot a song he was writing at daddy
Neil's club that now serves breakfast, and that It
said he better get his ass back there before someone
stole it and it turned out to be a "big hit", are
you wondering how big that apartment is?
How is it that Tyra and Neil didn't hear the phone
ring? How could it be that a woman calling from the
school asking for Yolanda Hamilton would volunteer
so much information to a child? Is it because It is
years ahead of her chronological age? Is that why
the woman told It that Yolanda is her mother? Could
it be too that It could go flying out of the box
without being seen? Right past the old lady in such
a rush to get It out of town Katherine couldn't wait
for Tyra to contact her? When Tyra informed
Katherine she was committing fraud - by pretending
to be Yolanda - Katherine didn't have a problem with
that and said she'd make sure the school was kept in
the dark? When Neil was so excited that Katherine
would break the law he wanted to tell It of her good
fortune and only then they noticed that It was gone
and Katherine said she thought they knew?
What the hell is wrong with these people? Why is
white as the driven snow Katherine so concerned
about the black folk? She didn't give a crap when
Nate Hastings lost his daddy. She didn't offer to
get Nate into tugboat school. There was no concern
to pay for Lily's education, or Devon's new ear.
What is Katherine's ulterior motive?
