Sure, you could start with an apology, a contrite
on-your-knees sort of thing, maybe an open letter in
your local paper or a speech at your next charity
gala whereby you stumble though some sort of "I
don't know what the hell I was thinking" or " Wow,
that morphine was sure potent" defense for your
unfortunate and reprehensible choices.
Nikki Chow, so hated and despised by Victor Newman,
actually thought that while the old man hasn't been
taking calls from his angry children, he would take
a call from her? Was that the morphine speaking? Is
that why she contaminated a crime scene? How proud
she was to tell Katherine Chancellor of having
dumped David Chow's ashes on a pile of horse manure,
and Katherine not ask why Nikki crossed a police
line because Katherine had not heard that a body had
been found butchered at the same stables where Nikki
had stabled her horse?
The discovery of a chopped to pieces body does not
make the streaming news, there are no reporters
swarming office buildings and the Newman Ponderosa.
Reporters do not know that infamous PI Paul
'Clueless' Williams was at the crime scene and thus
don't track him down looking for answers. But let
there be a routine car wreck. Tongues will wag and
phones will ring.
Let there be the vanishing of Victor and fear
strikes out. Minions like Adam Wilson, still being
addressed as Adam despite his saying he's Victor
Adam now, will worry that Newman Enterprises stock
will drop. No other company executive will worry
about this, never has before during Victor's many
vanishing's, and never has a single shareholder
dumped stock when inexperienced at running an empire
Nick Newman, and his inept sister, ran NE. Yet now,
Adam is freaking so much he's taken over the company
as if it's that simple.
Memo to the Board of Directors
From: Adam Wilson
Effective immediately, until my father's fate has
been determined, I will be running the empire. No. 2
man Neil Winters, who has forgotten more about
running this company than I'll ever know, will take
a seat in the back of the bus. Neil has dedicated
most of his life to Newman Enterprises, and while I
appreciate his loyalty, Neil is not a Newman. My
decision is final.
Don't get me wrong, it's a damn fine idea. For one,
Adam's power grab will make the other Newman
children angry. They're already angry over being cut
out of the Newman will, they're pretty much saying
Adam hasn't been around long enough to be a real
Newman, so pass Adam a cigar and let him go blast
some clipped-wing pheasants with a shotgun. Let him
say today that Victor is "a good man" and that he so
wants to be like Victor.
But don't stop there.
