Note: In yesterday's daze I wrote that Victor Newman's old flame in New
Mexico is Serena Caceres. It is in fact
Ramona Caceres.
Is this the day? I think it is. It's the time of the
season for Michael Baldwin, a lawyer we're told, to
find his long-lost daddy. You think he'll accomplish
this alone? You think PI Paul 'Clueless' Williams
was too busy transporting horses and finding dead
bodies to take Michael's case? Not at all; Clueless
has been a busy beaver these days. Making up for all
the months he sat around with his thumb up his ass,
Clueless has found Lowell 'River' Baldwin. Or at
least someone claiming to be the old timer.
Clueless got a tip, a "message" actually, that
there's a stranger being held at the Ashland County
Jail. Clueless didn't give any details, but you can
imagine that he has insiders at all the jails
throughout the state who call him whenever anyone
is locked up. "Hey Paul, we got another collar. Come
have a look. It might be someone you're searching
for."
It couldn't be that Michael's cops friend - the one
who called him about the car wreck - called Michael,
or that Michael could have been at the jail on other
business and noticed the dude in lockup.
No F-ing way!
There's got to be this convoluted should he, or
shouldn't he, dilemma. There's got to be Michael
taking crazy brother Kevin Fisher to the jail with
him and when they get there, Michael, who hasn't
seen Pa in years, can tell right away that the man
behind bars isn't Pa. Found out, the man confesses
to Michael that he switched identities with Lowell a
long time ago and during the confession it'll be
learned that the man is wanted for murder!
Then today we find Lauren "Ain't my teats big"
Baldwin sputtering how she fears that Michael will
meet his pa and find out something he doesn't want
to know. Good god, isn't that the point? Haven't
they seen in the past week it's all about skeletons
in the closet escaping to wreak havoc on the
inhabitants of Genoa City so that once the damage
has been done the injured parties can declare that
they are family and nothing and nobody will tear
them apart?
And yet they fight. We saw it today when an
ostracized Nick Newman - thinking he's back in daddy
Victor's good grace - got into a shouting match with
previously neglected half-brother Victor Newman JR.
Returning to the Ponderosa when they learned that
Victor canceled the funeral, and held a private one
for Sabrina at which nobody was invited, Nick
accused Adam of knowing where Victor is but refusing
to say. Adam shot back that if he did know he
wouldn't tell, and earlier had asked what I've been
asking for years: What is wrong with these people?
Why are they so creepy?
